Our Recreational Soccer Program is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of soccer in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. Through age-appropriate drills and small-sided games, kids will develop basic skills like dribbling, passing, and teamwork while building confidence on the field. With an emphasis on sportsmanship and enjoyment, this program ensures every child has a positive and exciting soccer experience!

6U (Ages: 5 & 6, Born: 2020-2021):

• SEASON: September 8th – October 16th (6 weeks)
• PRACTICES: Mondays, 5:30-6:30 PM
• SCRIMMAGES: Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15 PM
• LOCATION: All Play Fields, E Green St, Centerville, IA 52544
• JERSEYS: Our blue and yellow jersey set (used for all rec sports) can be purchased at the YMCA for $22.

8U (Ages: 7 & 8, Born: 2018-2019):

• SEASON: September 8th – October 16th, for those traveling – late Oct, TBD by League (6-8 weeks)
• PRACTICES: Mondays, 5:30-6:30 PM
• SCRIMMAGES: Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15 PM
  
• LOCATION: Practices and games at the All Play Fields, E Green St, Centerville, IA 52544
• JERSEYS: Our blue and yellow jersey set (used for all rec sports) can be purchased at the YMCA for $22.
• TRAVEL: If coaching is available, 8U teams will have the opportunity to participate in some Saturday games through the 641 League. The game schedule is set by the league and will be shared in the Band group as soon as it’s made available to the YMCA. Please note: 641 League games will involve travel to surrounding communities, including Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, Fairfield, Mount Pleasant, and Washington.
  – Players will please wear their blue jersey for games.

A note to Parents/Guardians: RLA YMCA requires parents/guardians of children 5 and under to stay at practice with their child and be available for any social-emotional and/or physical assistance they might require. (i.e. to use the bathroom)
