Our Recreational Soccer Program is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of soccer in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. Through age-appropriate drills and small-sided games, kids will develop basic skills like dribbling, passing, and teamwork while building confidence on the field. With an emphasis on sportsmanship and enjoyment, this program ensures every child has a positive and exciting soccer experience!

LAST DAY TO REGISTER: THURSDAY, AUGUST 28TH

6U (Ages: 5 & 6, Born: 2020-2021):

• SEASON: September 8th – October 16th (6 weeks)
• PRACTICES: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:15 pm
• LOCATION: Practices and games at the All Play Fields, E Green St, Centerville, IA 52544
• SCRIMMAGES: Thursdays, October 2nd, 9th, and 16th at 5:30pm
• JERSEYS: Our blue and yellow jersey set (used for all rec sports) can be purchased at the YMCA for $22.

8U (Ages: 7 & 8, Born: 2018-2019):

• SEASON: September 8th – October 16th, for those traveling – late Oct, TBD by League (6-8 weeks)
• PRACTICES: Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:15 pm
• SCRIMMAGES: Thursdays October 2nd, 9th, and 16th at 5:30pm
  – No scrimmages for 8U weeks that there is a Saturday game.
  – Game schedule TBD by 641 League and will be posted in the Band group.
• LOCATION: Practices and games at the All Play Fields, E Green St, Centerville, IA 52544
• JERSEYS: Our blue and yellow jersey set (used for all rec sports) can be purchased at the YMCA for $22.
• TRAVEL: 8U has the opportunity to play some Saturday games in the 641 League. Game schedule is determined by the 641 League and will be posted in the Band group as soon as it is available to the YMCA. The 641 League includes travel to the following communities: Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, Fairfield, Mount Pleasant, and Washington
  – Players will please wear their blue jersey for games.

A note to Parents/Guardians: RLA YMCA requires parents/guardians of children 5 and under to stay at practice with their child and be available for any social-emotional and/or physical assistance they might require. (i.e. to use the bathroom)
